Self-portraits

The first self-portrait I made was in kindergarten. After the fun of drawing hands, by tracing around my left hand, flat on the paper with my right, I thought: “Hey, I can draw my whole self!” So I took a very large piece of the wallpaper roll we had there, spread it on the floor, laid down on it, and traced around my body.
In 1999 I made another life sized self-portrait. And in all the years in between, it happened very often that I drew or painted myself, just because I wanted so much to draw or paint something, and that something was always there.

I consider many of my expositions as self-portraits.
